Making Clothes Patterns?
I want to start making my own clothes from clothing stores to mass-produce the same styles, I do not want to go out and 10 other girls have the same jacket, hoody, etc. I have fabric and stuff, but how can I make my own bosses? And also, how do you change your jeans to make them smaller? Thank you <3 Oh God, Please do not reply if you will not say something useful! If you do not get the question to keep on movin mami! I have experience in making clothes, I just decided not to on a whim, geez I can draw and sew … I can not make patterns …
I started making my own clothes by making patterns of my favorite old clothes. You make a few mistakes along the way that you hold when you have enough energy to make a quilt. I used to make clothes for my door when I was small (less waste tissue), which I really gave a feeling for how things work in 3D Have you tried to switch modes of A fabric store? You can even watch the measure patterns http://www.sewingpatterns.com/simplicity-patterns.html online until your hips, waist, bust to know what size to request Making Jeans is a little more work I never try but my mother is hiding small darts in the Gaza waste under the feet of belt. She's also been known to make your legs thinner by redo the seams, but it looks like a fiddly work on difficult materials. Jeans have generally been treated to make them look worn if the new seam is sometimes a bit strange Sounds like you need to do a sort of way to start, but in the end you just have to continue making things to get the hang of it (c; Good luck with it all (c;

Bleuette Clothing Patterns, 1905-1916
$34.98 Acclaimed doll costumer Louise Hedrick presents patterns for creating a complete wardrobe of 30 ensembles for this beloved French doll, authentically adapted from the patterns offered in issues of La Semaine de Suzette from 1905-1916. Arranged chronologically within the categories of whitework, lingerie and nightwear; dresses, bonnets and coats; outfits for make-believe (déquisements); and special clothing for the important ceremonies of The Church, the patterns vary in difficulty from the easiest to the most advanced. Completed ensembles are modeled on early Bleuettes and shown in full-color, with close-up views of important details; directions for heirloom sewing techniques and embroidery stitches are included. Clothing
$25.48 In virtually all the countries of the world, men, and to a lesser extent women, are today dressed in very similar clothing. This book gives a compelling account and analysis of the process by which this has come about. At the same time it takes seriously those places where, for whatever reason, this process has not occurred, or has been reversed, and provides explanations for these developments. The first part of this story recounts how the cultural, political and economic power of Europe and, from the later nineteenth century North America, has provided an impetus for the adoption of whatever was at that time standard Western dress. Set against this, Robert Ross shows how the adoption of European style dress, or its rejection, has always been a political act, performed most frequently in order to claim equality with colonial masters, more often a male option, or to stress distinction from them, which women, perhaps under male duress, more frequently did. The book takes a refreshing global perspective to its subject, with all continents and many countries being discussed. It investigates not merely the symbolic and message-bearing aspects of clothing, but also practical matters of production and, equally importantly, distribution. |

Clothing Matters
$34.48 What do I wear today? The way we answer this question says much about how we manage and express our identities. This detailed study examines sartorial style in India from the late nineteenth century to the present, showing how trends in clothing are related to caste, level of education, urbanization, and a larger cultural debate about the nature of Indian identity. Clothes have been used to assert power, challenge authority, and instigate social change throughout Indian society. During the struggle for independence, members of the Indian elite incorporated elements of Western style into their clothes, while Gandhi's adoption of the loincloth symbolized the rejection of European power and the contrast between Indian poverty and British wealth. Similar tensions are played out today, with urban Indians adopting "ethnic" dress as villagers seek modern fashions. Illustrated with photographs, satirical drawings, and magazine advertisements, this book shows how individuals and groups play with history and culture as they decide what to wear. |

Fashion Doll Clothing
$19.48 Well-known for her doll clothing, German designer Rosemarie Ionker now turns her creative hand to clothing today?s popular fashion dolls. Patterns in Play
$10.98 The relationship between text and music is a central issue in fifteenth-century music studies. Decades of research and performance have failed to provide clear answers to the most basic questions, such as which notes go with which syllables and why. Patterns in Play focuses on the early French songs of Guillaume Dufay and proposes a basis for determining some rules of common procedure for interpreting both underlay and style. Graeme M. Boone examines questions of rhythm and declamation, considering mensuration, linguistic and poetic prosody, and prosody in song. The first three chapters comprise a set of discussions preliminary to close rhythmic analysis of Dufay’s texted song melodies. Beginning with mensural rhythm and proceeding to poetics and the relationship between Dufay’s poetic and musical rhythms and musical declamation, Boone examines the musical features of rhythm, melody, tonal organization, counterpoint, text setting, and text expression. Offering fresh insight into the issues he raises, Boone clarifies the relationship between underlay and style and provides a better understanding of the technical and aesthetic issues that Dufay and other composers faced in weaving their patterns of song. |
