The history of sunglasses can be traced back hundreds of years for major Chinese dynasties. In the color smoke was then the method used to darken the spectacle. Pre-Columbian America
It was the culture of the Andean Indians of ancient Peru who produced the most accomplished weaving in America Columbian. The technique of tapestry Among these peoples dates back to the early Christian era, and has been well established by the 6th and 7th century. Tapestry was used to decorate garments and was often part of the fabric itself. Surprisingly, due to the dry desert climate, a number of these weavings survived in places of burial coastal Peru. Examination of these relics reveals some of the most skilled technical and varied weaving ever present in every culture.
The study of Spanish chronicles and ancient Peruvian pottery inform us that the weaving was usually done by many qualified women. Such was their skill that few discoveries of relics were found with 150 son to 250 frame per square inch. Most of these tapestries are polychrome that using natural dyes made for a wide range of colors. Colors intense were favored over more subtle tones ordered, especially in the Inca period. The drawings were often of geometric patterns, human figures and animals. Grounds plants were rare.
The Viceroyalty of Peru after the Spanish conquest looms importation and circulation of the tapestry was continued throughout the colonial period. The Inca and mestizo people developed a surprising mixture of Indian traditions and European influences, which is still seen today.
It is likely that climatic conditions in Central America Mexico and precludes the survival of tapestry relics so it is unclear whether these weaving techniques were present in the pre-Other pre-Columbian cultures.
From ancient Egypt to the Middle Ages
Tapestries of the Native Egyptian Christians (Copts) are of interest. Produced between the 3rd and the 12th century, they provided a link between the art of the Middle Ages in Western Europe and the art of the ancient world.

Although a few fabric tapestries silk were kept the majority of Coptic tapestries were woven with son weft wool on linen warps. In the 7th and possibly 8th century embroidered borders or margins often supplemented the tapestries ornamentation. The early Coptic tapestries were made using the silhouette technique whereby a remarkable effect was created by using a dark single design or pattern cons a background of lighter color. Polychrome tapestries became increasingly common after the 5th century.
