What kind of decorations are in Japanese and Indian clothing? p. ex. embroidery .. What tools are used to make their clothes? What models / fabrics / designs like? etc.. Thank you … I search myself but I just wonder if you have additional information for me:)

well i dont know Japanese, I am not sure if you mean as Hindus in India or anything but I am part Cherokee Indian and Beeds are obviously in much of their clothing and hand bags etc. also many different colors (light). If you feel like Hindu indianish .. I would say, many sequences and silk. Also in both models very unique and cool yet still many Beeding.

Confused? Most of us, because we do not really trust in choosing a size of clothing that we know will be linked to its shape. This is not surprising when none of us is particularly accurate with the tape measure and, more importantly, there is no universal system for the sizing of clothing.

A British Standard (BS 3666) was introduced in 1982 It is a set of size 8 32 but there is no legal requirement for any manufacturer or retailer to use the system. More recently, however, a new standard was produced (BS EN and described as "the size designation of clothes definitions and procedures for measuring body"), which uses actual measurements. This is certainly not yet in common use.

We believe that "vanity sizing" is one of the main reasons why a system universal calibration has not hitherto been formally introduced. This is understandable when few of us not miss the opportunity to enter a smaller size, in truth, we know we are. We even stay loyal to stores and brands that we believe that size is because they form, and despite the fact that the usual size 16 was consistently labeled as a 12! However, while this may be a common practice for some it is much more likely that the absence of a common grading system takes root in fact it is almost impossible to obtain accurate measurements for all bodies to be clothed!

Sizing a common formula was perhaps a little less before you buy directly from web sites and catalogs has become so popular. Treatment the "return" because they do not match, is a headache for "direct" business and it is they who have pushed hardest to ensure a system universal. However, the calibration remains a problem. Why?

Over the last 50 years we have become taller, larger and heavier. This May not surprise you, but imagine the challenge it poses for a designer or manufacturer as height, bust and hips rose 4cms (1.5 inches) expanded size of about 14cm (6 inches) and numbers are much more "straight" than they were in the 1950s. 4.5 milion British women, representing 19% of the total adult female population, are now size 16 to 10 size by 18% and 7.6 size of 20% or more. The positive is that we live any longer!

How do we know that women have changed shape of the body quite as much? Between 1999 and 2004, the London College of Fashion worked with a company called Sizemic to measure the size and shape of the British population. They interviewed and measured (scanned) over 5000 women and 5000 men aged 16 and 90 using a similar 3D body scanner white light that Trinny and Susannah used in their TV program.

Interestingly, the study of body shape is a serious and commercially motivated piece of work, a collaboration between government, different technology companies and academics. It led to the development of a database of precise size and shape statistics can be used for clothing sized correctly. A similar study was made of children in England and study skills exported work to be done in the United States, France, Mexico, Sweden and Thailand.

There was another spin-off …. a number of retailers have installed mini-store scanners. Levi jeans, for example, offer a free body analysis service to its flagship store in central London. Your body is scanned to enable a personal dresser to find the style and size of jeans that suit you best. Selfridges use a similar system for making customized jeans … but at a price!

Somehow, Scan UK automates the traditional skills of a tailor and a seamstress, whose stock in trade is to welcome all body shapes imaginable. This will be a while before the scanning is becoming the norm or sizing is quite consistent. However, perhaps we can hope to start enjoying the experience of "fashion" and we know the size that we seek is properly sized and designed to fit wherever we may choose to find it.
