Protestants broke away from the Catholic Church — why do they still have all those rules?
Baptism, for instance. Has to be done according to a formula. Rules for salvation, must have repentance and a prayer of salvation. The right clothes to wear, the right movies to watch, must have a testimony, and so on and so on…
I thought that Protestants wanted to get away from works-oriented salvation. Looks like the Reformation accomplished nothing except one set of rules swapped for another.
If you are ready to be baptized, they you should obviously have a testimony.
“I want to be baptized because Jesus is my Savior.”
Personal testimonies of the events leading up to that are excellent to have on record to help ignite the desire in others to come to Christ.
Finding a true, personal, relationship with the Lord is a lifechanging event. Nothing can compete with it.
As far as dressing and movies, etc… there are no “rules” … do what you want…but if the Holy Spirit is in you, I mean truly in you… there is a tremendous difference in how you present yourself and what activities you do and do not want to participate in.
Let’s see, must have repentance? Yeah that’s what the Bible says. A prayer of salvation is simply a verbal admittance to believing Christ paid the price for your own personal sins.
Can you really desire a baptism without a testimony?

Dress to impress?
Ok, so I have a job interview at Express Store in a few days as a partner sales, and I want to dress to impress because I thought, looking around at all their employees, they are really fashion. I looked in my closet and I have several items of clothing Express, and some of The Limited and Guess?. But I am not entirely made sure to wear to the interview. Should I go to really connected? A skirt? Or should I stick to what I normally do during interviews, what is really professional? I really want to impose on these people with the way I look. Any advice / tips would be greatly appreciated. Accessories should I? and shoes is a different story. (heels?) The real part interview should be easy, considering I have a really good personality and am easy to live with, but initial impressions are very important for a retail store like Express.
I would say black trousers not jeans with heels and a nice shirt and / or jacket on the match too much jewelry and makeup, but not much!
