How to make your own custom sewing patterns?

I design clothes, but I do not know how to turn these ideas into sewing patterns to turn into reality the clothes I want. I want to learn how to do this. Does anyone have any advice

There are a couple ways to do this … draping and drafting. I draped bodice of a basic block on someone, write and adjustment basic pants (which also gives you the power straight skirt), and then do the other models based on these two blocks. This is a fairly common pro work; I learned from Connie Crawford, who taught draping and flat model for many years at FIDM. It has a series of books and DVDs that can be useful if you go this route, and also offers a few classes. http://www.fashionpatterns.com you need to know how to sew basic clothing before its classes will make much sense to you, simply because you need to know some basic terminology such as line, sleevecap, bottom, etc., and how the parts of a reason to work together for the whole. (BTW, writing in his pants method is dead simple … I can do the basic project, cut the muslin, sewing, and correct the project in less than two hours. The pants are generally regarded as real bears to fit properly.) Another method of work is directly draping, which I actually prefer the one-offs for everything, but pants. If you watch Project Runway, when they start pinning and cutting fabric for dummies all that is not part of the outside garment, they are draped. Again, I recommend Art of Fashion Draping Crawford as a good resource – through the skirt circular in this book is particularly delicious – the method was given to her by the last member teaching the workshop Vionnet. If you are start a beginner, you might consider working with Don McCunn little book, How to make sewing patterns. This is a good introduction to the foundations of a experienced costumer. Then go to one of the most professional pattern books. There are also various programs around to computer model sewing at home. The examples I have seen produced by these models do not lead me to become interested in them … the models were poorly written and unbalanced, so they did not hang on the right body, and would not be without some good sewing "fix". Bernina has a program modeling new custom I've heard good things about, but I have not yet considered models and test the program, so I do not know if it's an improvement over the other or not. If you prefer to work in metric rather than English units, the best books of patterns I know for metrics are Winifred Aldrich.
